Facts about Christian dating, you didnt know

There is a general notion that Christian dating is something similar to other conventional forms of dating between two individuals. Therefore one would also want to know as to why the prefix of Christian is attached to the dating word which obviously makes it specific. This makes one think whether Christian dating is different from other forms of dating which may also have Christian people in its ranks. But what actually makes Christian internet dating different lies in the fact that Christians are called to follow a different standard when it comes to dating amongst Christian singles.

Christians are broadly called to respect each other as human beings first. As Christians we also need to remember that our body is the temple of God. While this may not be a forthright tip among Christian online dating tips, it is to be remembered that our actions as Christians is a reflection of what we show of the powerful Christian faith which we follow. Our words, our acts and our deeds are therefore expected to embrace a pattern which God has set before us and which we are only called to faithfully follow .

However contrary to some people labeling it as an orthodox system, it is actually pretty simple rules to follow and not some dictatorial method to apply when on a Christian date. It is in fact a safe method aimed for our own good and well being and for the protection of our souls. As such we are expected to respect our bodies and not indulge in misusing it in speech, action and conduct. Such sentiments need to be kept close to our heart when we first consider internet dating among Christians.

Among the most valuable Christian dating tips is the one which Jesus pointed out as being most important and which is the commandment where we are called to love our neighbor. This has to open our eyes to the fact that our Christian date is also our neighbor. A Christian partner created by the same God who brought us into this world. We need to show complete respect to this person just as we would seek respect for our self.. After all it is well instructed to us as Christians in the commandment which says ” love your neighbor as you love yourself”.

As Christians we also have to understand that we are dating for the purpose of marriage as our goal. We therefore need to focus our energies towards dating while pursuing the emotion of love through the pursuit of marriage and not merely for fun. If we fail to connect our dating endeavour with our need for a life partner, we are needlessly heading towards evil desires which spells only doom for our self in the future. We therefore need to be wise to understand that our bodies have to be kept pure because they are the temples of God.

The key here therefore is mutual respect for your Christian dating partner which is of great importance and even if you find that the prospective dating partner is not compatible with you as you go through the dating period, you must ensure that the same is communicated to the other Christian single in an amicable manner which will not cause him or her to feel less fortunate , neglected , misled or cheated and abused.

Also in a date if you are unsure of the person right from the start do not make the mistake of giving any commitment before analyzing whether the person in question meets your criteria or your needs properly. Reflect on your decision well and completely, before getting the due confidence in the person you date and only then should your commitment towards that person be made.

Remember it is a commitment you make before God and as a true Christian it needs to be honored. However there may be genuine exceptions to this depending on whether your Christian partner is faithful to you from his/her own side. The rewards for obedience are well laid out in Christianity and this will show in the love and affection of your Christian partner that God is certain to reward you with, in your lifetime. After all love is the emotion that you were pursuing when you decide that dating was for pursuing marriage. And there is nothing more triumphant for that emotion than the sacrament of marriage to fructify.
